Do you Believe Najib?

Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today denied having offered the Perak Pakatan Rakyat state assemblymen and the lone assemblywoman cash for their defection from their respective parties.


Addressing reporters at a specialy packed press conference at his office today, Najib told the press that BN did not resort to ‘buying’ the four over.

"No, no, no. There was no buying over," he told reporters after announcing that the BN had now secured the majority to form the new Perak state government following the defection of the four.

What he did not say is if they were given any incentives like posts in the new Perak cabinet he hopes to form with this new found majority.

It was only recently in fact a few days ago when Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was reported to have said that such crossovers are not morally right. To Najib apparently it seems morally right, his morals comes from his upbringing and that is manifested here as he seems to doing what his father started after the 1969 elections, getting the parties from Sarawak and the Peninsular to join the then Alliance party and form the Barisan Nasional.

Mahathir a great disciple of Razak followed that trend when they ousted the PBS in Sabah by buying over state politicians. This is all a result of upbringing, I hope Muhyiddin will remain true to what he has said, it may give Malaysians some hope.

Perhaps the most shocking revelation is that Mahathir Mohammed has himself condemned the Barisan for accepting the two candidates, he woudl have preferred they do this after the court trial of the two for corruption.

No conveniently the case will be postponed till kingdom come or the two may not be found guilty or the charges may be dropped.

Najib has said no money was involved, the question is did these men and the one woman crossover for absolutely no material or pecuniary advantage from the BN or UMNO in particular?

Asking the question of Najib is the last thing I'd want to do, most Malaysians do not trust him I am sure and as such I am asking the question here please respond to the poll.
